These are the only eight presidents from Virginia.  George Washington was the first president and was from West Moreland County.  He also was in the French and Indian war and was a commander of the Continental Congress.  He served as a president from 1789 to 1797.  Thomas Jefferson was the third president and is from Goochland (now Albemarle County).  He served as a president from 1801 to 1809.  James Madison was the 4th president and from Bort in Port Conway.  He also was the Father of the Constitution.  He served as a president from 1809 to 1817.  James Monroe was the 5th president and from West Moreland County.  He served as a president from 1817 to 1825.  William Henry Harrison was the 9th president and was from Charles City County.  He served only during 1841 because he made the longest speech in U.S history with a cold. Then he was the first person who died in office.  John Tyler Jr. was the 10th president and served from 1841 to 1845.  Zachary Taylor was the 12th president and from Orange County.  He served 1814 to 1850.  Woodrow Wilson was the 28th president and from Staunton.

My favorite president is William Henry Harrison, because he has two nicknames.  One of them is "Old Tippcanoe" and the other one is "Tippcanoe and Tyler too!"  I also like him because he was the first president to die in office, this was because he made the longest speech in the world in the rain.

One of his ncknames is "Tippcananoe and Tyler too," because his best friend was John Tyler.  I think that is really fascinating.
